 Vodafone offers total communication solutions to the Egyptian market, including voice and data communication, whether fixed or mobile. To help achieve this goal, Vodafone Egypt acquired 51% of Raya Telecom in September 2006.
Vodafone Egypt selected Raya Telecom based on several criteria, including most importantly its geographically dispersed network within Egypt, its long term experience in the data communication field, the professionalism and knowledge of the staff and the large customer base.
On June 2007, Vodafone Egypt decided to acquire the remaining portion of Raya Telecom and assume full ownership.
The full integration of Raya Telecom under Vodafone Egypt is currently underway to ensure the best fit of the corresponding business units with the ultimate goal of offering a wide variety of products and services meeting out customers' total communication needs.
